ECOCHURCH

We are working with A Rocha and their initiative: EcoChurch
By signing up to improve both the environmental efficiency and sustainability of our church buildings, church life and encouraging our church to care for the world entrusted to us, we hope to both demonstrate sound stewardship and encourage others to care for the environment.

We have a SILVER EcoChurch award.
This is a scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth.

WHAT’S HAPPENING?

We currently have no meetings planned, but if you’d like to be involved please get in touch,  We recently received a Carbon & Energy Assessment from the Environmental Information Exchange (EiE) based at Oxford Brookes University.  They were brilliant! We are working on the findings.

ON-GOINGLY

Would you like to research an area?  e.g. carbon footprints, tips for the year; collecting stories; content for the webpage; helping children/youth make shelters; generate ‘a library of things and skills’ or something you are interested in?

TASKS

Contribute content and encouragements to add in the news-sheet?
Investigate living roof or living wall?
Investigate conservation area guidelines, maybe solar panels?
