ECOCHURCH

We are working towards being an Eco Church.
By signing up to improve both the environmental efficiency and sustainability of our church buildings, church life and encouraging our church to care for the world entrusted to us, we hope to both demonstrate sound stewardship and encourage others to care for the environment.

EcoChurch is an award scheme for churches in England and Wales who want to demonstrate that the gospel is good news for God’s earth.

For 2022 we have set ourselves the following targets:

WORSHIP

In our newsletters and social media we will include items relating to caring for God’s earth.

BUILDINGS

We will encourage natural wildlife on our church land.  We will grow plants on our land that benefit birds, bees & butterflies. We will create a management plan for the land we are responsible for.

LAND

We will encourage natural wildlife on our church land.  We will grow plants on our land that benefit birds, bees & butterflies. We will create a management plan for the land we are responsible for.

COMMUNITY

We will support or host a ‘Green Fair’

LIFESTYLE

Once we have completed some of the above, we will encourage members of our church to undertake their own carbon footprint audit and potentially reduce their personal consumption.
