Set your Goals (Hebrews 12:1-3)

Part of the Spiritual Bootcamp series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

We need to look to God and run life's race as well as we can, persevering and pressing on towards the goal.
God has given us all we need to run well; we must fix our eyes on Jesus, because we are changed when we look at Jesus.
In making good decisions in the smaller parts of our race, we can, perhaps unknowingly, be a great force for God's good.
We all have an individual calling, so to follow this to the full will delight God and may bless many other people.

Hebrews 12:1–3 (Listen)

12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God.

Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted.
