Outside the Safety Zone ()

Chris Band, November 18, 2018
Part of the Marriage, Gender and Identity series, preached at a Sunday Morning service

We live in a sexually immoral society, for example with porn so readily available.
St Paul interestingly says that to remain single means that we could live a life of devotion to God.
The Greek word in the NT for any form of sexual relationship outside marriage is 'porneia'.
The Bible is full of instructions to flee from sexual immorality. Matt 5 says it in the strongest possible terms. The warnings are all because God wants to save us from sexual immorality. one of the fruits of the Spirit is self control. If we are lacking in self control, we need more of God.
The Spirit gives us the freedom to choose holiness, the freedom to choose not to sin.
We are amazingly blessed that God is a forgiving God who restores us when we confess and repent.
